Save the Children serves impoverished, marginalized and vulnerable children and families in nearly 120 countries, including the United States. Our programs reach both children and those working to save and improve their lives, including parents, caregivers, community members and members of our partner organizations. We help save children’s lives, protect them from exploitation and assist them in accessing education and health care. Through disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, rapid humanitarian relief and long-term recovery programs, Save the Children also assists millions of girls and boys at risk of or affected by natural disasters, conflicts and ethnic violence.

Team captains will set up each team’s fundraising page at www.savethechildren.org/runforkids, and individuals can go on to the team page to set up their individual fundraising page. For off-line donations, the Organizer’s Guide has a sponsorship form—checks can be made out to Save the Children. After the event, checks may be sent to Save the Children, 501 Kings Highway East, Suite 400, Fairfield, CT, 06825.
Q: Why are children running?
The Run for Kids is a global race in which teams of children from around the world accumulate miles to reach our global goal of 5,000 miles - the equivalent of how many miles many children have to walk to access clean water, nutritious food, or healthcare in a year - while helping to raise awareness about the urgent needs of children here in the U.S. and around the world.
